About Nita-Rose & Larry: General Information about Teaching Our History: In July 1983, Nita-Rose became licensed through The International Therapy Examination Council (ITEC) in England and re-licensed through The Aveda Institute and The SHI Medical Massage School in Ohio. Nita-Rose first began assisting students in 1999 as a Preceptor with the SHI Medical Massage school in which she is required to evaluate students in the massage program, who seek her out as part of their graduation requirements. Promoted to Spa Manager for Identity Hair Salon and Day Spa in 2000, Nita-Rose was responsible for evaluating applicants seeking employment in the Spa, and for all spa training of treatments and new techniques as they were introduced. In 2003, taking advantage of their private “walk-out” basement with its own separate entrance, located behind their home and in the privacy of their wooded backyard, Larry and Nita-Rose designed their Private Spa home studio. The Private Spa is dedicated to deliver an experience of quiet, uninterrupted, personal attention in an atmosphere that is both nurturing and healing. Nita-Rose applied to the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology for instructors license and submitted her Full Body Massage workshop and Face Massage workshop for approval for continuing education credit. Having received approval from the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology, the Full Body Massage workshop was awarded 19 continuing education credits and became a certified workshop for Estheticians and Cosmetologists allowing them to do full body massage, and 8 continuing education credits for the Face Massage Workshop. Nita-Rose applied to the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork in Ohio (NCBTMB) and the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) for approval as a continuing education provider. Having already spent 4 years instructing Nita-Rose was approved by the NCBTMB as an approved provider for continuing education with 32 Continuing Education Credits applied to the Shamanic, Kahuna Lomi Lomi workshop and 8 Continuing Educations Credits applied to the Face Massage Workshop. Nita-Rose in an international instructor and has taught Hot Rock Massage workshops in Johannesburg, South Africa as well as in Cincinnati, Ohio. Larry and Nita-Rose prefer to keep their workshops small and private to allow for the highest quality instruction and hands-on, individual attention. By working closely with each participant Nita-Rose strives to do everything possible to ensure that at the end of the workshop, each participant is able to deliver, with confidence, the technique they came to learn. Therefore the workshops are offered at their Home Spa Studio and are restricted to 6 students for The Full Body and Face Massage classes, and 4 students for the Shamanic, Kahuna Lomi Lomi workshop.
