The Call of
Goddess Pele Loving Touch Lomi Lomi (Massage)
An Advanced, Shamanic,
Kahuna Lomi Lomi Training
The development of the Self comes before any
other skill, for the "skill" exists in that
"silent magnitude" within the core of your
performance in any and all expression.
"It feels so much like mother energy, being at
the lomi lomi workshop, almost like being at the
temple. I felt like I was trained in a
sacred way, it awoke a love inside of me that I
have not felt ever on this earth. It was
very much like coming home to self, but also
such a deep, deep connection to Spirit, almost
as if the ancient Hawaiians called me home to an
understanding of my higher self. I have
been in many sweat lodges and have always had
deep powerful vision, but I certainly didn't
expect this to happen at a CEU class!
Thank you! Mahalo!

"When I speak, I speak for
my ancestors,
When I breathe, I breathe for my past,
When I move my entire Family moves with me,
When you see me, you see my beginnings,
I stand, and my entire Family stands and
applauds."

Abraham Kawai’i:
With deep respect and gratitude I thank
Kahu Abraham Kawai’i for giving us the blessing
of the Kahuna bodywork.
Goddess Pele
Lomi Lomi is a massage delivered with touch of a
mothers love. It is sometimes called Kahuna Lomi
Lomi or Temple Style Lomi Lomi because it was offered by the Kahuna (an expert), in the temples.
It is a massage ceremonial ritual of deepest love -
a calling of the soul.
To become worthy to offer Lomi Lomi, you
undertake the self training of Aloha - a
training offered to help you see the
beauty of the sacred light within yourself and within each person you work
with through
connecting to the love of the Divine while you work.
In this workshop you
learn
the meaning of therapeutic, healing touch within
the Lomi Lomi bodywork and how to deliver an authentically
empowered experience. It is highly
recommended therefore, that the self-study of Ka Hana
Pono, (which is offered to you as part of the
workshop), be undertaken. It is best if
you begin the Ka Hana Pono at a minimum of 2
weeks prior to taking this workshop.
Course Outline:
This
is an advanced, experiential learning workshop.
It is referred to as "advanced" only in that it
requires from the participant a sincere
dedication to learning with focused attention
and long hours of application throughout the 4
day training, in order to master this beautiful
art form of bodywork.
You do not need to be a Massage
Therapist to learn this ancient Hawaiian wisdom. The first Kahuna’s
of Lomi Lomi were not massage "therapists", they
were healers.
Therefore, this modality is for
anyone interested in the healing arts. A great
deal of time is given each day to learning the
massage (lomi lomi) through giving and receiving the Kahuna Lomi
Lomi massage.
Over the intensive 4 day
training you will learn the following:
·
An advanced, full body Lomi Lomi massage which
includes:
Hawaiian
Energy Balancing - Laulima (a form of
Healing Touch)
Massage
techniques using the forearms along with
broad hand techniques for deep nurturing pressure
Lymphatic Drainage Massage
A Complete
Aromatherapy face
massage
·
Safe body mechanics and self care
·
Ka Hana Pono - a gentle Hawaiian Philosophy to
support the healing of heart and mind. Ka
Hana Pono aids in connecting the giver to their
higher self and the Divine in order to deliver the most healing
and nurturing massage possible. The Ka Hana Pono uses a set of cards and a book along
with simple daily exercises. Once you have
worked with the cards and are familiar with
them, they may be used as a divination for the
client prior to their massage to offer words of
wisdom, inspiration and healing.
·
The ethics of caring and creating a safe space.
·
Hawaiian Blessing Prayers to open and close each
Lomi Lomi session
·
Breath, meditations and movement to align with
the quiet, inner world of the soul.
We meet with respect, each participant along the
road back to Spirit, at whatever point in
their personal journey of life experiences they
may be. We honor each individual for their
own cultural heritage, spiritual journeys,
beliefs and understandings. Our
intention is to contribute to the journey the
deeply satisfying, unconditional love and
acceptance and profound healing that is found in
the Goddess Pele Loving Touch, Lomi Lomi
ceremony.
Goddess Pele Loving Touch Lomi Lomi is an adaptation from Temple
Style Lomi Lomi, or more commonly referred to as Kahuna Lomi Lomi and used in ancient times in
the temples as a rite of passage.
To be given access into the ancient healing
tradition from a
culture outside of your own, and to benefit from
their experience and wisdom, is an honor and
deserves great respect. Therefore this workshop
requires an attitude of reverence for what is
being offered you and a sincere open heart and
willingness to learn.
Fully participating in the self
healing of Ka Hana Pono prior to coming to this
workshop will better prepare you for
understanding the gentle art of creating a safe, sacred
and nurturing environment as taught in this workshop,
and
will allow each participant the opportunity to
experience as a receiver and as the giver, the
full, healing experience of Aloha from
preparation to integration in an authentic
manner.
This workshop is offered in a
separate building - a beautiful cedar wood
cabana that has been built especially for this
workshop and is located behind our home spa studio.
The area surrounding the facility is wooded and
private and the energy is maintained by the
natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere of
nature.
Therefore, the space is limited and classes are
kept to 6 participants. Our intention is to ensure, to the
very best of our ability, that the participants
in our workshop have a safe and nurturing
atmosphere, which will provide optimum
conditions for learning, spiritual growth,
exploration and individual attention.
"This work helped me heal and find peace with my
ancestors."
"I
loved the peaceful, lovely setting as I am very
affected by my surroundings"
"This experience has felt like a vacation for my
soul, and my body even though we have been
working quite hard!"

I honor with my deepest love and respect my beloved ancestor
Mother and my Spiritual Teacher, Mamuadevi who
is my inspiration for the Call to Shamanic
Kahuna Lomi Lomi and who constantly is reminding
me of my own strength of purpose as She wraps
Her loving and protective presence around me and
continues to guide me in all things.
Aloha and Mahalo (greetings of love and gratitude) to my Ku’u Hoa
Aloha, (my precious companions) and my Na Kapuna,
(ancestor spirits).
Bio of Nita-Rose:
Nita-Rose is the daughter of
Kumu
Mamuadevi, a spiritual master, who,
when living among us, founded the first
non-sectarian, spiritual, holistic retreat center, (or what the
ancient Hawaiian people would call a “Heiau” -
meaning sacred space or temple), in South Africa
in 1970.
Nita-Rose in 1976
Nita-Rose is blessed by this unique
experience of growing up in a
spiritually diverse and exciting community under
the guidance of her spiritual teacher/mother.
Nita-Rose spent a year as a
nun with the Sisters of Charity in London where
she was blessed with spending a week with Mother
Teresa who was visiting the convent during that
time.
When Nita-Rose left the
convent she returned home to South Africa where
she met her husband and had two children.
Her son became a Buddhist Monk in 1990.
During those 3 years Nita-Rose made many trips
to Plum Village in France where she was given
permission to live in the monastery while
visiting with her son. Nita-Rose spent
many months in the monastery receiving powerful
teachings from the renowned Zen master Thich
Nhat Hanh.
Over 36 years, Nita-Rose has
received many diverse and wonderful teachings delivered in profound
ritual and ceremony from many teachers whom she
loves and respects.
In the year 2005, the year before Nita-Rose’s Mother “traveled on
in life” (as She referred to her death),
Nita-Rose received what was to be her final and
a most beautiful transmission and initiation,
from her beloved Mother, Mamuadevi - the
Shamanic, Kahuna Lomi Lomi,
Nita-Rose 2005 being
blessed by her Mother

Kahu Abraham Kawai’i felt that the wealth
inherent in Hawaiian culture could be taught
outside of its cultural framework, and
formulated strategies to teach the principles at
work rather than anything specifically Hawaiian.
Early on in his own personal training he
developed a style of bodywork known as RomiKaparere, known throughout the world as
Kahuna bodywork and Temple Style Lomi.
He stepped out of this existence into the next
in 2004, but his work continues.
The breath of existence is timeless, as is the
wind of time. Nothing is permanent, thus
providing the opportunity for change and
adjustment. –Kahu Abraham Kawai’i”
I am deeply thankful to my husband
Larry, who has supported and encouraged me
spontaneously and enthusiastically. His love,
trust and belief in me, and in the value of this
work, has made the journey of putting this
workshop together, an exciting adventure.
I am grateful to Connie Rios, for
offering the practical application in the Ka
Hana Pono that she so lovingly compiled and
offered in her Cyberspace workshop, and for
allowing me permission to use the Hawaiian
chants and protocol to set Kapu space, which has
made my journey beautifully effortless, and
reinforced the strong framework that supports
this workshop.
The course is presented in the way in which I
was taught, and guided to do, through my mother,
Mamuadevi, my Na Kapuna and is inspired and
influenced by the many wonderful teachers and
precious companions of my life.
Transformation occurs to the extent that you are
able to trust in your mana ‘iho (self power) in
being able to embrace the egos resistance and
fears with love while courageously continuing to
fully participate in the journey back to
Spirit. There is nothing more beautiful and
more worthy of your time. Give the next four
days your very best attention. Be fully
present, open and receptive to the
application of the
practice and in the
sharing of this wonderful process.
